NL246 is a series of light fittings developed around the idea of soft transitions between surfaces and components. The series includes pendants, linear fittings and outdoor wall lamps, all developed through digital modelling, 3D printing and physical mock-ups. One of the key projects in establishing NICOLAI LARSEN as an independent design practice, and submitted to Muuto Design Contest 002.

The steel construction gives NL246 a structural rigidity that keeps the form consistent across the series. Developed around a shared formal logic, each fitting is a variation on the same idea rather than a separate design. The result is a family of lamps that can coexist in a space without competing.
