Nicolai Larsen is a Danish architect and designer, trained as a carpenter and educated at the Royal Danish Academy. He works at the intersection of craftsmanship, architecture and industrial design — developing furniture, lighting and objects intended for contemporary production.

The starting point is always how something is made. A background in both manual construction and spatial design means that material behaviour, assembly logic and structural clarity are built into the process from the beginning. Few materials, chosen for their inherent qualities. Forms that are honest to how they are made. Joints and connections that can be understood, assembled and — when the time comes — taken apart. Flatpack construction and repairability are not afterthoughts but design decisions made early, because objects that last must also be objects that can be cared for.

The studio is at an early stage and actively looking for manufacturers and brands to develop products with. The process is straightforward, the ambitions are long-term, and the bar for what constitutes a good outcome is high on both sides.
