NL101 is a chair formed entirely in steel. The structural members are sized to the loads they carry, with joints and connections that are direct and unambiguous. The chair's form is a product of its construction, not an addition to it.
NL101 reduces an entire chair to two identical, mirrored side elements cut from sheet metal. They simultaneously form the structure and the wide armrests — a construction where the number of unique components is minimised to the extreme, because fewer parts means simpler production and a more robust, predictable chair over time.
