NL264 is developed around a single bent shell element, repeated three times around a central axis. The three identical shells are assembled with six screws, forming a stable stool. The project explores the relationship between part and whole — a single component that in isolation has no function, but through repetition becomes a piece of furniture. The design can be flat-packed, produced rationally, and allows for individual colour combinations. One of the most thoroughly developed examples of the recurring interest in repetition, modularity and construction as form-giver.
